WELCOME TO OUR SURROUNDINGS
The region of La Manchuela, crossed by the Júcar and Cabriel rivers, which have formed a landscape full of beauty in the northeast of the Province of Albacete. The region seduces the traveler for its natural, landscape and cultural wealth. Its hallmarks come from a remote past that has left its traces through civilizations (Iberians, Arabs, Romans …) and centuries (churches, castles, walls, coats of arms …).
La Manchuela is made up of the history of its twenty-five municipalities and taking into account its two slopes, there are two itineraries of special importance following the course of the rivers: the Hoces del Río Júcar (Protected Natural Area: Red Natura 2000 ZEC-ZEPA) and Las Hoces from the Cabriel River (Biosphere Reserve and Natural Park).
From XUQ LOMAS DE RUVIRA, it is located in a privileged environment, in the heart of the Protected Natural Area “HOCES DEL RÍO JÚCAR”, a landscape full of contrasts and nature where the waters of the Júcar have carved a valley full of historical natural caves that have been inhabited from time immemorial until today.
From THE HAMLET, located between the valleys of the Júcar and Cabriel rivers, its location is ideal to visit magical places such as the Cueva de los Ángeles or the Cabriel River Valley Biosphere Reserve, where it is possible to enjoy a bath in the which are considered the most crystalline waters in Europe or take a multitude of hiking trails that run through this unique place. Nearby are also the Hoces del Río Júcar and historic towns such as Alcalá del Júcar or Jorquera.
FROM ALBACETE, we are in a province with a multitude of contrasts and natural landscapes, less than 20 minutes to the north we will discover La Manchuela, where the Protected Natural Areas are located: “Hoces del Río Júcar” and “Valle del Cabriel” (Reserve of the Biosphere). To the northwest the “Laguas de Ruidera” Natural Park and the Don Quijote route, and to the south the rugged mountains of Alcaraz and Segura where we will find places as magical as the Source of the Mundo River, within the “Calares del Mundo y de la Sima ”, or municipalities such as Alcaraz, Riópar and Ayna (“ La suiza manchega ”).
